Write for us

Eastern Sports Insider welcomes thoughtful pitches about sports, rules, competitions, traditions and playing spaces across eastern Asia. Send proposals through the Contact page rather than submitting an unsolicited full article.

What to pitch

We are interested in clear, focused ideas that help a general reader understand one subject. A useful pitch names the sport or tradition, the question the piece will answer, why the topic is a good fit and what the reader should take away. Evergreen explainers and well-framed comparisons are welcome.

What makes a strong proposal

Keep the idea specific and explain its scope. Tell us which places and subjects it covers, what reliable material could support it and where details may be uncertain or contested. Avoid broad claims about a whole region, promotional copy and pitches that rely on unsupported experience or claims.

Send a proposal

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a short outline and any relevant background about the proposed piece. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; no contributor credentials or assignments are implied by sending one.
